The festival originated when the wine industry was first developing in our region. The event was a great way to promote the vintners and raise awareness for our destination as a wine region.
While the Chamber continues to actively promote the vintners and agri-tourism for our region, our efforts have shifted away from hosting events so that we may continue to focus our efforts on business development, support, and advocacy while providing visitors to the region information about Leelanau.
We are encouraged by the steadfast efforts of our communities to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in our region. Our businesses, associates and residents have been committed to compliance to ensure safety. Thank you!

The 2019 Traverse City Film Festival will be held July 30 – August 4, 2019.
The Traverse City Film Festival was founded by Oscar winning filmmaker Michael Moore as a charitable, educational, nonprofit organization committed to showing “Just Great Movies” and helping to save one of America’s few indigenous art forms — the cinema.
The festival brings films and filmmakers from around the world to northern Michigan for the annual film festival in late July to early August, and also owns and operates a year-round, community-based, mission-driven art house movie theater, the State Theatre.
