It’s with great disappointment that we announce that the 35th annual Leland Wine and Food Festival scheduled for Saturday, June 13th has been canceled due to circumstances surrounding Covid-19 Coronavirus. This is the first time since the festival began in 1986 that we haven’t joined together in celebration of fabulous Leelanau wines and delicious foods on the second Saturday in June, and we’re already planning on our best Wine Fest yet in 2021!
We would like to extend our gratitude to our incredible volunteer planning committee, our sponsors, local wineries, food vendors, musicians and artists who have been so understanding and supportive throughout this process, and to all of our Wine Fest attendees, many of which attend faithfully year after year!
For those of you who have already purchased your tickets, please note you can expect to see a refund in 7-14 business days.
Social distancing and shelter in place are difficult for all of us. Luckily, many area wineries who had planned to participate in the Leland Wine and Food Festival are offering special deals on shipping, offering curbside pick, hosting virtual tastings and more to ensure great wine can be had by all during these difficult times.
Join us for a wonderful afternoon of Wine on the Water on Saturday, July 20, 2019, from 1-7pm at Suttons Bay Marina Park.
The Leelanau Peninsula Wine on the Water Festival features tastes from local Leelanau wineries, cideries and breweries as well as delicious food from local restaurants. Enjoy drinks, food and all-day musical entertainment. Experience unforgettable wine, food and music beside the cool breeze from Grand Traverse Bay!
Tickets are $20 in advance or $30 at the gate. Each ticket includes a commemorative wine glass. Tasting tickets and food are available for purchase during the event.

The 2019 Traverse City Film Festival will be held July 30 – August 4, 2019.
The Traverse City Film Festival was founded by Oscar winning filmmaker Michael Moore as a charitable, educational, nonprofit organization committed to showing “Just Great Movies” and helping to save one of America’s few indigenous art forms — the cinema.
The festival brings films and filmmakers from around the world to northern Michigan for the annual film festival in late July to early August, and also owns and operates a year-round, community-based, mission-driven art house movie theater, the State Theatre.

This annual art fair takes place at the beautiful Suttons Bay Marina Park on the first weekend of August (August 3 & 4th, 2019, Sat. 10am – 6pm, Sun. 10am – 5pm). One hundred artists along with community groups, a community library book sale, food vendors and a children’s area make this the perfect place to spend an art-filled weekend at the beach. Join us on Sunday morning for a pancake breakfast in the park (free to exhibiting artists). This is the second year Blackbird Arts has hosted the breakfast.
A committee of volunteers oversees the selection of visiting artists and the distribution of funds generated by the event. Thousands of dollars have been contributed to local arts-related education projects. These include music and dance performances, artist in residence programs and scholarships for local art students.
Come to Suttons Bay in August, participate – as an artist, as a shopper or as a volunteer. Join in the fun!
