Brengman Brothers at Crain Hill Vineyards

We’re located at the top of Crain Hill Road, close to Grand Traverse Bay and 5 miles from downtown Traverse City.

Our vineyard brims with vinifera grape varieties, including Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

Our objective is to produce wines that express the terroir of the area soil, sun and winds at this truly unique site.

It takes top quality grapes to produce fine wines, and we invite you to visit our stunning vineyard and wine tasting room where we pay daily homage to our passion!

Boathouse Vineyards

150508boathouseOur hand-crafted wines are made with care from grapes grown in our family-owned vineyard located in the heart of Leelanau County.

From our customer-favorite , Seas the Day Table White or our 2012 Pinot Noir, “Best in Class” at California RIM wine competition, to our increasingly popular Boathouse Red or any of our other fine white and red wines, we hope that you enjoy them as much as we do.

Visit our tasting room on M-204 at the bridge in the Village of Lake Leelanau along the beautiful Lake Leelanau Narrows or shop online at your convenience.

Tasting Room

Located on M204 at the bridge in the Village of Lake Leelanau, Michigan (across from Dick’s Pour House), the tasting room also sits on the Narrows, a beautiful waterway connecting North Lake Leelanau and South Lake Leelanau. The tasting room opened in April of 2012. It was designed to take into effect characteristics of the surrounding area with its barn-red board and batten cedar siding along with stones that match up to buildings in the area.

You can access the tasting room by boat or car. Then relax and have a glass of wine on our covered porch or walk down to the dock at the water’s edge (next to the boathouse) and watch the boats pass by.

Tandem Ciders

Tandem CidersA unique stop on the Leelanau wine trail, Tandem Ciders specializes in artisanal hard ciders. In the major apple growing regions of Europe, a culture has developed around the enjoyment and deep appreciation of cider, of both the traditional production processes as well as the apples themselves. Cider plays an important role in these areas by helping create a healthy, relaxing lifestyle that revolves around a profound connection to the land and its offerings.

Tandem Ciders aims to establish a similar tradition in Leelanau County. We use Michigan apples in our ciders and work closely with neighboring growers that produce the fruit. We sell our product where the apples are grown, promoting the farmers and the valuable agricultural land of Leelanau County, as well as the cider itself. Our tasting room is a place that stresses the importance of the region, the significance of community, and a warm and comforting atmosphere that fosters communication and camaraderie. By demonstrating the tangible relationships between the land, apples, and the cider, Tandems Ciders encourages patrons to appreciate the essential connection between these entities.

Stop by and visit us! Head north on M-22 through Suttons Bay, and approximately 1.5 miles from the second blinking light, turn left on Setterbo Road. Wind up Setterbo for another mile and look for the white barn with a red tandem bicycle. Welcome to Tandem Ciders
