Thank you for the mention!!!!I celebrated my BFF's wedding this weekend and it was glorious.
.
The best friend status was Karey's idea last year when we started planning and it made sense, not only because we had months of emails, calls, meetings, and texts ahead of us as she and Andrew planned their wedding from Chicago, but especially because she has an effervescent endearing personality that makes instant BFF status entirely reasonable.
.
Having just celebrated the weekend with 157 people who were each greeted with the warmth and enthusiasm (and awesome welcome bags) that BFF status inspires, I count myself and the team lucky to have been part of such an expressive celebration. The weekend brought excitement and anticipation with Friday's welcome events, a sense of awe in the stunning hilltop view of Lake Michigan as guests stepped off the ski lift to champagne and ceremony, contentment over warm dinner conversations, cheering for the first dance lift, tears and love in the father-daughter dance (and definitely not just dad's tears), a lot of dancing and a lot of donut eating. 4 events over 3 days. Full on "kid in the candy shop" excitement from Karey thru every moment, paired with Andrew's classy kind-heartedness.
.
Of all the thoughtful details that elicited delight, my favorite is easily the BFF way that both K&A loved their guests and the way that their 157 guests adored them right back. Glorious.
.
Thanks, K&A, for the past year of best friend emails (Karey) and for moving the things that our emails contrived (Andrew 😎🥂). It's been an honor on so many levels.
.
Cheers to a vendor team who brought enthusiasm and creativity to this soiree: @thehomesteadmi @danstewartphotography @lmvisualsllc @premierfloraldesign @mrmusicdjs @gigiandlaclede @serradellaweddings @sensationaleventstc @specialoccasionsmi @bbjlinen @dreamdetailsme @cakesbyauntb @littledonuts.tc Blue Lakes by the Bay, David officiating @macdonald_events @ The Homestead

We Love the smile!!!Everyone hopes and prays that the weather is perfect on their wedding day. Lauren and Jack certainly did. Well, it rained on their wedding day. Correction, it POURED! I would call it a Michigan monsoon. It was disappointing for Lauren and Jack, at first. However, these two weren’t going to let that take away from their special day.

Here are ten of the many moments these two had, even though the weather wasn't perfect.

1.) First look with dad, 2.) rearrange embrace from mom, 3.) getting covered with garbage bags, 4.) piggy back ride from your sister in said garbage bags, 5.) thumbs up from big brother and sister before the ceremony, 6.) intimate moment with dad before walking down the aisle, 7.) pronounced Mr. & Mrs., 8.) sibling hug after the ceremony 9.) taking off those uncomfortable ASAP, 10.) cry laughing at the bridal party speeches.

Let Lauren + Jack be a testament that your day will still be perfect, no matter the weather. Despite the rain, one could say they were still “showered” with love. 🙂
