Manitou Passage – Cross Country Tournament – September 11, 2016

Manitou Passage - Cross Country Tournament
What, you may ask, is a Cross Country Golf Tournament?

A Cross Country Tournament is basically the same as a regular 4 person best ball, except that we are have taken the liberty of re-designing the holes (not literally). Instead of playing the holes as they currently are laid out, you will play them not only in a different order, but to different locations as well. For example, you may be starting out teeing off from the #1 tee box, but your target green will be #17 instead of #1. You might then proceed to #8 tee box and play to #7 green. You get the picture…we will be playing a total of 9 holes.

Keep one thing in mind, the number 1 goal of this tournament is to “Have fun!” This is a goofy format and there will be some goofy scores, but it will also give a chance to say “Thank You” to those who have supported us this season.

Format:

4 person best shot

Start Time:

10am shotgun start

Fees:

$36 per person, non-members
$18 per person, members

Includes:

9 holes of golf
Cart
Lunch
Prizes! (Let’s just say that the prizes are not your conventional gift certificates. And, remember…this is for fun!)

Advance registration is required by September 2, 2016. Call 231.228.6000.

Leelanau Harvest Tour – September 16, 2017

LHTPedal through Scenic Leelanau County

Saturday, September 16, 2017

Tour Overview

The Leelanau Harvest Tour is a great biking adventure for both families and single riders as the fall colors begin to show and temperatures begin to cool. Leaving from the Suttons Bay High School, routes of approximately 20, 40, 65, and 100 miles wind throughout beautiful Leelanau County on excellent paved roads passing by farms, orchards, vineyards, dunes, and through quaint villages. So come, ride, relax, and enjoy all that this beautiful peninsula has to offer.

Four Beautiful Routes

After nine miles on the Leelanau Trail, the 20 mile route follows the east side of South Lake Leelanau then returns to the Trail to finish in Suttons Bay. Being mostly flat this is an ideal route for younger riders.

The 40 mile route begins the same as the short route then continues north along the east side of both North and South Lake Leelanau and passes though the village of Lake Leelanau before returning to Suttons Bay via the Leelanau Trail from Dumas Rd.

After leaving the Leelanau Trail 10.5 miles south of Suttons Bay, the 65 mile route heads west through Maple City, north around Little Traverse Lake, through Lake Leelanau, up the east side of North Lake Leelanau and then over Herman Hill to the finish.

The 100 mile route extends the 65 mile route north to the Grand Traverse Lighthouse at the tip of the Leelanau Peninsula and the village of Northport with more hills and scenic views.
