Manitou Passage Golf Club – A Northern Michigan Adventure
By Jim Barnes It may seem unthinkable, even sacrilegious, to make any changes to a course designed by the great Arnold Palmer. Originally opened in 1998 as King’s Challenge, the course languished a bit when Sugar Loaf Mountain Ski Resort closed (the course is built alongside the ski hill), so it needed some rejuvenating and updating. On behalf of the Leland Michigan Chamber of Commerce, I would like to thank all the volunteers who shared their time to put on the 34th Annual Leland Wine and Food Festival. I would especially like to recognize Leland Public School for partnering with us once again to help make this festival possible, by providing support as well as volunteers from the Leland Educational Foundation and the Class of 2020. In addition, we thank many volunteers from our Leland community, the Leland Harbor, Leland Township Fire and Rescue and the Leelanau Christian Neighbors. Perfect weather combined with wonderful volunteers made this festival a success.

The Leland Wine and Food Festival is the primary source of funding for the Leland Chamber of Commerce. The proceeds from this event are used for beautification projects such as bridge flowers and trees in town, the Fourth of July parade and fireworks, marketing for our business members, weekly event emails to the community, holiday lighting and much more. In addition, the Chamber is able to make donations to local groups such as the Leland Educational Foundation, Leland Township, the Leland Township Public Library, the The Old Art Building and the Leelanau Christian Neighbors. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved for helping us host a fantastic event!

"I am not sure that is the right one and will it even fit?"

Oh my god what was i thinking hiring these two....yes its wine , its in a bottle, we serve it!🙄

Isn't wine made of fruit? Why did we add more fruit?

Are you sure this was our secret ingredient?

Middle guy; “uhh, isn’t the really good stuff supposed have a worm in it?” Guy on right; “dude it’s not tequila!” Guy on left(in hushed voice); “I told you MF’s to act sophisticated!”

Guess what guys, we can totally make a sangria using this wine. Now all we have to do is remember how to do it at home. Happy Wine Wife, Happy Wine Life

(middle) Do we go for some fruit or drink it from the bottle? (right) Looks good ! (left) I can't choose

Let’s add this bottle and see what happens?

What was I thinking, hiring these two? They act like they’ve never even tasted a glass of wine.

“Ok... Now how am I supposed to get this sangria in a bottle?”

“What the hell do you call this? It’s not Ripple.”

Guy 2 (black hat): This Riesling has a fruit nose of pineapple and a crisp finish. Guy 3 (white hat): How are the legs on it? Guy 1 (scratching his head): I knew I should have paid attention during the wine tour, but all I could think about was how delicious wine tastes....

Was ‘Tuesday’ a good vintage?

It says what?! Made in Napa? No way it can match Michigan made wine.

“Wait,,, what?!?!? That’s all there is to it?!? Awesome!!! Cool dude!!!”

Dude it says 1980...is it old? should I pitch it?

I thought you weren't supposed to mix booze with fruit...

See, if we add the white to the red and throw in some blueberries, we got Trash Can Patriotic Sangria for the Fourth, dudes!

Red or White Sangria....decisions, decisions

Do we go off alcohol % or color of bottles??

Oh no, I ran my hand through my hair. I must wash my hands before returning to work.

Guys, my wife asked me to get her wine. She told me to write the name of it down, I said I didn't need to...now damn if I can remember what to bring home..help a fella out. Is this one good?

Does that really say Snake wine? Do you think they will know the difference?!

If we add this bottle of wine to the sangria, do you think they’ll forget summer isn’t here yet?

It says right here "Pour contents and stir."

I'd like to propose a toast... oh s#%t, this isn't my yard!

"Nothing wines like a Deere!"

I thought you said, "Pour some more cheer," not, "Mower is a John Deere."

Farmersonly.com profile, loves long rides on the mower, MI wine, and picnics. Looking for partner who I can share my love of plaid with.

On the next episode of Housewives of Leelanau County: Samantha mows the wine whilst sitting on a tractor.

I said "Dear lets take a ride and enjoy a glass of Riesling", He brought me the bottle and the keys to the John Deere.

Nothing Runs Like a Deer except for a Woman with Wine! It's a Ride & Wine Kind of Day in TC!

Nothing runs like a Deere unless it's a Good White, down my throat, on a hot summer day

You might be a redneck if...you drive your John Deer wine tasting from winery to winery.

It's not mow time, it's me time.

I never want to hear him wine about mowing the lawn again

Why, oh why, have I let my kids mow the lawn for years?!

I dont always mow the lawn, but when I do I always drink Leelanau Peninsula wine.

Mower is broke, yard half cut. Going to wine instead of whine. 😂

Fruit on the palette, fresh clippings on the nose.

Sunshine and wine, grass cuttin' time.

“Hey look at the time! It’s Wine o’clock! Stop, pop and pour!”

Wait, wait, I am almost ready to ride. Whose got the cooler, I want to keep this chilled for later!

Just mowed down another bottle of Leelanau Peninsula Fine wine to get me through the day 🍷 “CHEERS” from my Deere and Me!

This dear runs on one bottle of great wine per acre.

It is stressful doing yard work, everyone needs a break with a great glass of wine!

Taking wine tours to a whole new level!

When we're ready do chores on the Leelanau peninsula we get gas for the lawnmower and wine for us!!
