My first visit was in June, 2019, for my son and daughter-in laws wedding! Perfect choice for them. A beautiful introduction for me, as a LOVER of this beautiful place. See you next year!

Hung out there a lot fishing those docks in the late 60’s!

Why can’t the dam power Fishtown again ?

What year is this photo? Very different from today. Is the spillway there? I can't make it out. When was Falling Waters Lodge built? Not there in this photo. And what was the building on the upper left where The Cove is now?

Traverse City Film Festival – July 30 – August 4, 2019

The 2019 Traverse City Film Festival will be held July 30 – August 4, 2019.

The Traverse City Film Festival was founded by Oscar winning filmmaker Michael Moore as a charitable, educational, nonprofit organization committed to showing “Just Great Movies” and helping to save one of America’s few indigenous art forms — the cinema.

The festival brings films and filmmakers from around the world to northern Michigan for the annual film festival in late July to early August, and also owns and operates a year-round, community-based, mission-driven art house movie theater, the State Theatre.

Any chance the "leftover's" could be online ??

Did you miss this brilliant Q&A with director Gavin Hood and Michael Moore? Then don't let the chance to see this gripping thriller and winner of the Audience Award at this year's festival, Official Secrets, when it returns to the State Theatre and Bijou by the Bay this Friday.

Suttons Bay Art Festival – August 3 – 4, 2019

Suttons Bay Art Festival

This annual art fair takes place at the beautiful Suttons Bay Marina Park on the first weekend of August (August 3 & 4th, 2019, Sat. 10am – 6pm, Sun. 10am – 5pm). One hundred artists along with community groups, a community library book sale, food vendors and a children’s area make this the perfect place to spend an art-filled weekend at the beach. Join us on Sunday morning for a pancake breakfast in the park (free to exhibiting artists). This is the second year Blackbird Arts has hosted the breakfast.

A committee of volunteers oversees the selection of visiting artists and the distribution of funds generated by the event. Thousands of dollars have been contributed to local arts-related education projects. These include music and dance performances, artist in residence programs and scholarships for local art students.

Come to Suttons Bay in August, participate – as an artist, as a shopper or as a volunteer. Join in the fun!
