Perhaps you are a family of priviledge or what we called "resorters", and the chances are you have some money that could be donated to this amazing cause.

I was just there a couple of weeks ago. I couldn’t believe the water level. Amanda- you are doing great work. I didn’t realize this was where you are and your commitment to the preservation . Thank you!

Best wishes to save Fishtown Leland. I have been going there and enjoying it since the 70s. It is a special Pure Michigan town.

Great interview, Amanda!

They have a donation page on fishtownmi.org I encourage everyone to make a donation...even small helps I'm sure. I'm from the Detroit area but will be pledging something.

So well spoken. Thank you!!!

Great & knowledgeably the best interview!! Thank you!

We love fishtown! I'm watching this wearing a manitou t shirt. Incredible job representing, Amanda. You were clear, concise and well-spoken... and I believe adequately expressed the passion that everyone (not just locals) have for this area. Thank you!

Love the Fishtown area.

You gotta wonder where the water is coming from..... a few MI DNR officers and representatives of the DNR said the high water we are seeing is due to a long hard northern winter on Lake Superior. In March during the close of walleye fishing season on the Saginaw river my dad and I were told to expect high water levels this year, in April we saw the same DNR representative that told us the prediction, and he said the high water is due to the ice flows in the U.P. melting off in Lake Superior, and to expect high water through summer. The Saginaw river was 2-3 feet higher than normal this spring and summer. It still is about 1-2 feet over the normal level that I have seen it at. Water flows in and out and the path of least resistance, there for you gotta wonder what’s going on in Canada above Lake Superior.... it’s not just Michigan has had a lot of rain which we did, but late springs and hard winters can cause the water tables to go wacky... calm down it’s Michigan where you see 4 seasons in 1 day, wear shorts in December, Christmas with no snow, and summer in March....

I love Leland it's a great place

Well done, Amanda!

Good job...

One of the best spots in MI. Love the sandwich shop on the waterfront. Hope it's OK!

Lets take some money from the revitalization of Detroit or any other projects the state is involved in to help this jewel of Michigan out....

Great job, Amanda, and best wishes!

You just had to know CNN would get climate change in there😡 Disgusting! By the way I love and support FISHTOWN, as I used to fish there all the time back in the late 60’s!

I love Fishtown

Love Fishtown. It is a treasure.

FISHTOWN NEEDS HELP!!!

On our way to visit for our Leland week and can’t wait to donate.

We are very blessed.....

Fishtown is one of our favorite places. ❤️

1918 the levels were higher. Climate Crisis 1918??? Prayers for beautiful Fish Town.

The water levels have risen and fell throughout the years, nothing new.

If you’re vacationing in that area with your family gather them all up and go to the Fishtown Preservation place across from the Village Cheese Shanty. I had my 8 year old granddaughter hand them my check. I wanted them to learn that you support things that are important to you or they will be lost. #teachablemoment

The 2019 Traverse City Film Festival will be held July 30 – August 4, 2019.

Suttons Bay Art Festival – August 3 – 4, 2019

Suttons Bay Art Festival

This annual art fair takes place at the beautiful Suttons Bay Marina Park on the first weekend of August (August 3 & 4th, 2019, Sat. 10am – 6pm, Sun. 10am – 5pm). One hundred artists along with community groups, a community library book sale, food vendors and a children’s area make this the perfect place to spend an art-filled weekend at the beach. Join us on Sunday morning for a pancake breakfast in the park (free to exhibiting artists). This is the second year Blackbird Arts has hosted the breakfast.

A committee of volunteers oversees the selection of visiting artists and the distribution of funds generated by the event. Thousands of dollars have been contributed to local arts-related education projects. These include music and dance performances, artist in residence programs and scholarships for local art students.

Come to Suttons Bay in August, participate – as an artist, as a shopper or as a volunteer. Join in the fun!
